2050 Partners provides essential support services for stakeholders striving to meet their energy and climate goals. Our holistic approach is derived from the intersection of policy, technology, and innovation.
Each of the following projects play a critical role in advancing energy efficiency, sustainability, and the transition to a low-carbon future. Through stakeholder collaboration, policy development, and technical expertise, we help shape energy programs, improve regulations, and drive innovation. Our work supports clean energy goals by optimizing efficiency standards, enhancing building codes, and ensuring infrastructure is prepared for future energy demands.
2050 Partners has a long history of collaborating with utilities, public sector agencies, manufacturers, trades, and other industry experts.
Among these strategic and successful partnerships are the following:
California Energy Efficiency Coordinating Committee (CAEECC)
2050 Partners served as the inaugural facilitator for CAEECC, restructuring California’s energy efficiency planning under the California Public Utilities Commission. We led over 30 public strategic discussions, engaged stakeholders in negotiation sessions, and managed thousands of public comments on program administrators’ business plans. Our efforts supported the development of California’s 10-year rolling cycle energy efficiency portfolio.
Hawaii Energy Efficiency Manager
On behalf of the Hawaii Public Utilities Commission, 2050 Partners oversees the state’s energy efficiency portfolio, managing consultant contracts and guiding program design. We conduct research on Hawaii’s Energy Efficiency Portfolio Standard and facilitate two key stakeholder groups to support policy development. Our work helps advance Hawaii’s clean energy goals through strategic oversight and stakeholder engagement.
Minnesota Codes and Standards Roadmap
2050 Partners developed a comprehensive roadmap for the Minnesota Department of Commerce to advance state energy codes and standards. We facilitated four Technical Advisory Group meetings, conducted expert interviews, and hosted public webinars to gather input. The final report provided over fifty recommendations, shaping Minnesota’s policies and programs for energy efficiency.
Efficient Motors Coalition
Representing California investor-owned utilities, 2050 Partners co-chairs a coalition of motor manufacturers and energy efficiency advocates to develop new efficiency standards for electric motors. We lead a working group to create a new test procedure and metric, contributing to the updated NEMA MG 10011 Power Index. Our ongoing work includes laboratory testing and refining efficiency levels for regulatory consideration.
Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure
2050 Partners supports the expansion of EV charging infrastructure by working with utilities to improve national model codes and California’s building codes. We coordinate stakeholders, including state agencies and manufacturers, to ensure policies facilitate widespread EV adoption. Our efforts help prepare the built environment for a low-carbon future.
